Yes I’m another
newbie blogger journaling my healing progress online.
But you know what.. it’s therapy – the cheapest
form, and I get to talk a lot about the things I love, the things I’m
struggling with and I’m a talker, and what better way to get down all my crazy
thoughts and feelings than in a regular blog.
Healing over Thyme – is just that – I’m healing. I’ve been sick for way too many years and my
body and mind becoming a weak shell of what I used to be has given me the kick
in the proverbial to take control back.
This lead me down a very expensive but completely worthwhile crusade to
gain my health back.
I’ve been diagnosed
with type 2 diabetes and auto immune disease.
Frankly I’m relieved, I thought I was going mad (ok so many of my family
and friends think I am anyway). My body
wouldn’t work, I got brain fog, I lost my oomph – I knew that If I didn’t
start to help myself for real, I would
become very sick and end up in a wheelchair, sucking on oxygen, with my insulin at the ready!
This was back in Feb 2014, and I promised myself that when I
hit the 10kg loss mark I would write my first blog. Fast forward a few months and here I am. I’ve been yo yoing with my weight for all my
adult life, but having recent health scares has bought me back into focus.
Healing over Thyme is a way to keep me on track, getting
back to optimal health is my primary goal, the weight loss is a natural side
effect I’m happy with J
It will mostly be about food – because let’s face it, it’s
what we’re putting into our guts that are making us sick. I’ll be sharing my food recipes as I experiment
and get out of my comfort zone, and a bit of science thrown in from the experts
as I have surprisingly become quite passionate about the role that all foods
play in our lives – the good- the bad – and the downright toxic nasty’s.
